Sustainable Lodge Operation
At Few & Far Luvhondo, we are committed to redefining what it means to experience a sustainable safari.
Powered primarily by renewable energy, our lodge is carbon negative and operates on a zero-waste philosophy. Guests can explore the wilderness without relying on fossil fuels—by cycling, hiking, or even using our solar-powered cable car.
Zero Waste Goal
We believe in leaving no trace. Few & Far Luvhondo’s zero-waste policy ensures minimal environmental impact by eliminating single-use plastics and reducing packaging waste through local procurement. All cleaning and beauty products provided to guests are eco-friendly and chemical-free. We also bottle our own water, treated through UV filtration and reverse osmosis, to eliminate plastic water bottles. Any recycling is transported to the nearest facility, ensuring our waste is responsibly managed.
A unique element of our sustainability efforts is our colony of soldier flies. These remarkable insects efficiently convert food waste into compost, while their larvae serve as a protein-rich feed for livestock, supporting our circular waste management system.
Food
Our culinary philosophy is grounded in sustainability. Fresh produce is grown in our own gardens or sourced from nearby farmers, reducing food miles. Local meat and fish ensure that our supply chain is short, while our extensive vegan and vegetarian options emphasize low-carbon footprint meals. Our approach to food is built around circular usage and re-use, minimizing waste at every step.
Drink
Our locally inspired wine list and selection of spirits, including gins and rums, celebrate the region’s flavors. Guests can also enjoy a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, aligning with global health trends and offering a refreshing, mindful experience.
