We are located in the Soutpansberg mountains of Limpopo, South Africa. Our reserve forms part of the Unesco-designated Vhembe Biosphere Reserve.
Unlike a traditional Kruger National Park safari where vehicles often share congested roads, we offer complete exclusivity. You share 30 000ha hectares of wilderness with guests from just six suites. Furthermore, you are not confined to a vehicle; you have the freedom to walk the reserve (under the guidance of a tracker or guide), track leopard on foot and actively participate in conservation work like sweeping for snares.
The Soutpansberg mountains offer two distinct experiences based on the season:
- Green season (November to March): characterised by afternoon thunderstorms, lush vegetation, flowing waterfalls and premium birdwatching
- Gold season (April to October): characterised by dry bushveld, cool air, clear tracks in the red dust and peak leopard tracking conditions
Choose from several routes to reach the reserve:
- Board the Rovos Rail at Victoria Falls for a three day journey through to Zimbabwe to arrive at our property for a very special stop
- Take a charter flight to our private airstrip
- Fly commercially into Polokwane International Airport and transfer to the lodge via a 90-minute transfer
- Self-drive from Hoedspruit (four hours), Pretoria (four and a half hours) or Johannesburg (five hours)
The Soutpansberg mountains are considered a low-risk malaria area. International guests should consult their doctor regarding required vaccinations and malaria medication prior to travel.

We offer six cliff suites. Each suite features a king-sized bed, private plunge pool, bath, outdoor shower and expansive wooden deck.
Yes, the lodge is suitable for children of all ages. We have programmes to engage children in wildlife tracking, guided nature walks and hands-on conservation work.
Yes, our Cliff Suites easily accommodate families, with additional roll-away beds available for children.
Your rate covers your accommodation, all meals, beverages (including wines, spirits and liquor) and most daily privately guided activities.
All on-site activities are privately guided. Included activities are:
- Wildlife tracking and guided nature walks
- Mountain biking
- Stargazing and sleeping out on our mountaintop deck
- Hands-on conservation work, such as sweeping for snares and monitoring camera traps
- Game drives
The samango monkey experience carries an extra charge due to the requirement of an ecosystem permit. Off-site adventures such as day trips to Mapungubwe National Park and the Crystal Salt Pans, as well as spa services, incur an additional fee.
We offer an all-inclusive dining experience featuring farm-to-table cuisine. Options include our fine-dining restaurant, a traditional boma braai, bush picnics, bush breakfasts and in-room dining. Every evening is designed to be a different dining experience.

We operate on 100% renewable energy, pursue a zero-waste goal and use no single-use plastics. We are a carbon-negative lodge, and our Verra-registered project is set to sequester 100 000 tonnes of carbon annually. Guests are welcome to participate in our rewilding and planting efforts.
We ensure our impact is measurable by partnering with established authorities like Panthera to monitor our leopard population, and the Endangered Wildlife Trust to protect critical biodiversity across the Soutpansberg mountains.
We also invite guests to actively participate in this work. Through hands-on experiences like our Conservationist for a Day programme, you can join our team to sweep for snares, monitor camera traps and track leopards on foot, ensuring your stay directly funds and facilitates real conservation.
The Soutpansberg mountains are a critical biodiversity hotspot, yet currently less than 1% of the region is formally protected. Our 50-year mission is to bring 100 000ha of this wilderness under formal protection. We are currently managing and rehabilitating 30 000ha of degraded land by pulling invasive saplings, repairing water sources and restoring indigenous flora.
