Engineering a zero-waste wilderness

Engineering a zero-waste wilderness

A luxury safari should not cost the earth. We discarded the traditional, consumption-heavy hospitality model to engineer a fully sustainable operation deep in the Soutpansberg mountains.

We anchor our farm-to-table culinary philosophy directly in the landscape. We harvest fresh produce straight from our own gardens and source meat and fish from nearby farmers. This deliberate approach cuts food miles and keeps our supply chain short. Our chefs are mindful as they build every menu, creating options to minimise waste at every step.

We demand a zero-waste environment. We have eliminated single-use plastics. We bottle our own water on-site, passing it through advanced UV water filtration and reverse osmosis systems to ensure absolute purity without the environmental toll of imported bottles.

Harnessing nature's mechanics

Our waste management relies on the mechanics of nature. We use a highly efficient black soldier fly composting system to manage all organic food waste. These remarkable insects break down organic matter into nutrient-rich compost for our farm-to-table gardens, while their larvae provide sustainable protein for local livestock.

This closed-loop system ensures that our footprint remains virtually invisible. You experience the raw power of the mountain without leaving a scar on the landscape.
